The Shearers’ Cottage, just across the farmyard from the main house, is a charming, self-contained clapboard-clad building with a big kitchen/dining/living area in front and two bedrooms plus a bathroom behind. There’s a big brick fireplace with a cosy wood-burner, and a wonderful polished floor of Tasmanian hardwood boards. Antique furniture, rugs and old framed prints give the building a quirky charm all its own.
The bedrooms, one double, the other slightly smaller and with a single bed, have views across paddocks to the Prosser River. We provide ingredients for your breakfasts in the Cottage kitchen, but you are welcome to join us in the big house for dinner provided there are existing dinner bookings, or the whole place has not been booked on an exclusive basis.
